The Italian fashion icon received Italy’s highest national honour this week, recognising her dedication and significant contributions to the fashion industry.

The Ministry of Interior in Milan hosted a private ceremony for the designer, where she was named a Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic.
She also met Italy’s head of state, President Sergio Mattarella, to celebrate Italy’s national day.

Donatella Versace expressed her pride and honour in a statement and praised the global Versace community for their contributions since the company was founded over four decades ago.

The 69-year-old designer was last seen attending the Met Gala 2024 alongside actors Andrew Scott and Jude Law in New York City. She graced the red carpet in a delicate mint-hued Atelier Versace gown, inspired by the ivy details from Versace’s Spring/Summer 1997 collection.
